The Scandalous Neglect of Political Prisoners
While details about weapons, strikes, and military strategies are presented with precision, a deafening silence surrounds the fate of political prisoners, abandoned in degrading and inhumane conditions. Iranian prisons, now under the control of the Pasdaran (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), have become places of systematic deprivation: meals denied, medicines confiscated, and medical care prohibited.
The Urgency of a Political Solution
No attention is being given to the concrete paths that could break this cycle of repression. Yet prisons are filled with women and men capable of forming not just one, but ten transitional governments. Their release—followed by guarantees for their safety and that of the people—must become an absolute priority. Peacekeeping forces, mandated by international bodies, could oversee this transition, finally allowing Iranians to choose their destiny—a destiny they deserve after having endured two dictatorial regimes.
Avoiding a Third Dictatorship
It is imperative to act before the shadow of a new tyranny spreads across the country. Hollow calls for revolt, repeated like a mantra by certain external actors, only expose the population to bloody repression. The international community must stop turning a blind eye: the release of political prisoners and the protection of civilians are the only paths toward a peaceful and democratic transition.
